Evaluated by Skiresort.info, the world's largest test portal for ski resorts.
The evaluation is done as follows
Advanced skiing, freeriding (powder snow skiing) Les Sybelles – Le Corbier/La Toussuire/Les Bottières/St Colomban des Villards/St Sorlin/St Jean d’Arves
All over the Les Sybelles area, you'll find black slopes, and they truly deserve their classification, as they are only groomed once a week. This leaves plenty of time for them to turn into mogul slopes—a type that has become quite rare in Alpine ski resorts. There are no designated ski routes, but there is plenty of space for freeriding. In Le Corbier and La Toussuire, you can do this almost anywhere to the left and right of the slopes, and thus generally within the secured ski area, as there are neither trees nor rocks to pose obstacles. The terrain becomes more alpine at Les Perrons above Saint Sorlin. There are also beautiful off-piste runs from Petit Perron and from L’Ouillon through open terrain. The backside of Tête de Bellard is extremely steep—you should only venture into these chutes with a guide.
- many freeride/deep snow areas
- some mogul slopes
