Long flat trail down to the valley (but easy for beginners to manage), lunch break at the Steinhaus double chairlift in the valley from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, cross-country trail feesDescription Klausberg – Skiworld Ahrntal
From Steinhaus (1050 m), the 10-seater gondola K-Express takes you quickly and steeply up to an altitude of 1600 m. Below the mountain station, the 10-seater Sonne gondola starts and ascends to 2100 m. Very wide, intermediate forest runs lead back down to the Sonnenbahn and the mountain station of the K-Express.
From the K-Express, a connecting trail leads down to Almboden. Here you will find the fast four-seater chairlift with weather protection hoods Klaussee I, the four-seater chairlift Almboden, and the 10-seater Panorama gondola. At the Panoramabahn, you’ll find slopes of all difficulty levels, which lead back down to the valley through wide forest clearings. At the mountain station at around 2050 m, guests can enjoy complimentary sun loungers.
The four-seater Almboden chairlift serves an easy slope, which is especially suitable for beginners. The fast four-seater Klaussee I chairlift takes you higher up and serves both an intermediate and an advanced run, both of which meet again at the mountain station of the Almboden chairlift.
From here, the “Abendleite” connecting trail leads to the mountain station of the K-Express and continues down to the valley. Since the 2006/2007 season, the new K2 eight-seater gondola (the highest eight-seater gondola in South Tyrol) has significantly enhanced the ski area, reaching up to 2510 m. Beautiful wide slopes lead over treeless terrain. For freestylers, the Snowpark Funtaklaus has been built below the mountain station. Those looking for more of a challenge can enter a difficult slope in the lower section, which ends at the valley station of the K2 lift.
To reach the valley (from K2 it’s an impressive 1460 meters of vertical drop), you can either ski a short section of difficult slope directly below the gondola from the K-Express mountain station until you reach the connecting trail, or you can take the trail right away. The descent to the valley is nice and wide and easy, and you first reach the two valley lifts before finally turning right to the parking lot and the valley station in Steinhaus. Since the 2016/17 season, you can finish the last section via the challenging Enzenberg run to the valley station.
The Brugger triple chairlift is located in the valley and serves a wide, very easy slope especially for beginners. This is also where Klausiland is located. The Steinhaus double chairlift, which goes a bit higher and serves an intermediate to advanced slope, rounds off the valley’s offerings. This is also where the Racing Center Klausberg is located.
Guests’ well-being is well taken care of in the ski area, with numerous restaurants and ski huts available. Since 2011, the Kristallalm at the K-Express mountain station has been delighting guests.
After skiing, there’s the Hexenkessl, the SkihausPub, and cozy venues where you can enjoy après-ski. The Klausberg ski area is located in a snow-sure basin between 1600 m and 2510 m and is also ideal for beginners and families.
Around the valley station, you’ll find attractive accommodations, including the Amonti & Lunaris Wellnesshotel, which is among the leading hotels in South Tyrol.
