Cross-country trails at the ski resort Jakobshorn (Davos Klosters)

  • Cross-country trail offering
    Total trail length: 132 km

The cross-country ski trails around Davos are snow-sure and idyllically situated in the landscape. The trails start directly in the village and lead into the quiet side valleys. The cross-country skiing season in Switzerland is opened annually in Davos. Around 4,000 cubic meters of snow are stored each year under a layer of wood chips. With this preserved snow, a 1.4 km long track is prepared as early as the end of October, marking the start of the cross-country skiing season on snow. The Snowfarming project was developed in 2009 by the technical service of the municipality of Davos together with the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF. Since then, in coordination with the national cross-country skiing performance center of Swiss Ski, technical snow has been preserved over the summer. In addition, Davos offers a 2.5 km long night trail, which is illuminated daily until 9:30 pm.
