Since the 2003/2004 season, the areas of Pas de la Casa-Grau Roig have been merged with Soldeu-El Tarter and can now be accessed under the name Grandvalira with a single ski pass. The ski area is the largest in the Pyrenees. Every season, numerous lifts and slopes are renewed, ensuring that the ski area is always up to date.
From Grau Roig, you can take the detachable six-seater chairlift Pic Blanc or the detachable four-seater chairlift Antenes towards Pas de la Casa, on the other side of the pass. The runs down to Grau Roig and also to Pas de la Casa lead over treeless slopes and are mostly of intermediate difficulty, with easy as well as challenging slopes. In Pas de la Casa, there are wonderful beginner slopes in the lower section, served by a four-seater chairlift, a double chairlift, rope tows, and conveyor belts.
To return to Grau Roig, you can either take the detachable six-seater chairlift Font Negre or the detachable four-seater chairlift Pas de la Casa. To get to Soldeu-El Tarter, you need to take the detachable four-seater chairlift Cubil from Grau Roig towards Pic Baix del Cubil, and then you can either head straight down an intermediate run to the two detachable six-seater chairlifts Pla de Les Pedres or enjoy beautiful slopes to the four-seater chairlift Enradort.
You can reach the top station of the Funitel Funicamp, which brings guests from Encamp into the area, via the six-seater chairlift Pla de les Pedres or, after the four-seater chairlift Endradort, with the four-seater chairlift Colibri. From up here, you are spoiled for choice and can carve down wide runs into the Soldeu-El Tarter area. To return to Grau Roig, you must either take the four-seater chairlift or the Llac del Cubil drag lift, and then you have wonderful runs down to Grau Roig.
You can also access the Soldeu-El Tarter area from Canillo with a modern eight-person gondola lift. At the top station, a four-seater chairlift is perfect for beginners and also serves as a return lift to the gondola, as there is no valley run to Canillo. With the detachable four-seater chairlift Portella, you reach the 2465m high Pic de la Portella into the El Tarter area and can then continue on to Soldeu.
In El Tarter, a detachable four-seater chairlift and an eight-person gondola lift start up into the ski area. With the detachable six-seater chairlifts Tosa Espiolets and Llosada, you reach altitudes of 2467m and 2560m respectively and can descend into the next valley. The four-seater chairlift Solanelles takes you back up to the 2458m high Collada de les Solanelles, from where you can switch to the Pas de la Casa-Grau Roig area or ski all the way down to Soldeu, from where an eight-person gondola and a double chairlift take you back up the mountain.
The runs throughout the Grandvalira area are very varied, offering everything from wide, easy beginner slopes to well-graded intermediate runs and even extreme slopes that will challenge advanced skiers. A perfect ski area that leaves nothing to be desired.
