The valley station was located right next to the Gasthaus Traube, and the route led over the eastern slope of the hill to the summit. With around 88 meters of elevation gain, the lift was compact but technically demanding.

The ski slope was considered anything but beginner-friendly. Some even claimed: "Anyone who learned to ski in Gais can handle any slope in the world." The Doppelmayr short T-bar relentlessly pulled skiers up the steep slope—a true piece of ski lift history.

In 2023, operations in the Gais winter sports area were discontinued. Today, Klausenböhl serves as a reminder of an era when small village lifts shaped winter sports.
