Cross-country trails at the ski resort Espace Diamant – Les Saisies/Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe/Praz sur Arly/Flumet/Crest-Voland
- Cross-country trail offering
Total trail length: 192 km
Les Saisies hosted the cross-country skiing and biathlon events of the 1992 Winter Olympic Games. More than a dozen trails of varying difficulty wind through the sparse forest on the snow-sure high plateau (1550-1750 m) of Les Saisies. While a ticket is required to use the cross-country trails (with the exception of the two practice loops in Les Saisies and Le Lachat), the area offers exceptionally well-groomed tracks and several special features, such as the opportunity to use the Gentianes ski lift to reach the highest point of the trail network. A tow rope provides convenient return transport to the parking lot at the northern edge of Les Saisies. Here you’ll also find the service building (Chalet du Fondeur) with a waxing room. There are various picnic areas, a Salle Hors-sac (where you can eat your own food in bad weather), and a puzzle circuit for children. The loop named after eight-time biathlon world champion Raphaël Poirée features a timing system, allowing you to compare your time with that set by the champion himself.
The Nordic Center also offers 20 km of winter hiking trails and 45 km of groomed snowshoe trails, as well as eleven ungroomed snowshoe routes.
Additional cross-country trails can be found in Notre Dame de Bellecombe 1350 (a circular route) and in Praz sur Arly (with a connection to Megève).
