The Bansko ski resort is located in the Pirin Mountains in southwestern Bulgaria. Access from Sofia is via the A3 motorway (Awtomagistrala "Struma"). Sofia is just under 2 hours away. Other distances: Thessaloniki 3 hours, Skopje 3.5 hours, Belgrade 5.5 hours, Istanbul 6.5 hours, and Bucharest 7 hours.
At the valley station of the Bansko gondola lift, there is a very large paid parking lot. If the road is accessible, there are a few additional parking spaces available at the mountain station of the gondola lift at Bunderishka Polyana. The main parking lot is in the valley.
