A great deal of consideration is given to the environment: forest and wildlife protection zones may not be entered and are specially secured. In cooperation with the Adelboden Light and Water Works, the valley station Fuhrenweidli, the mountain station Sillerenbühl, the mountain and valley stations Hahnenmoos, the mountain station Lavey, and the intermediate station Bergläger have been equipped with photovoltaic systems. The small hydroelectric power plant Engstligenalp is considered a prime example of how efficient electricity production can be achieved while taking all environmental concerns into account. In the ski area, the management of alpine pastures and sustainable tourism are promoted.
