The most well-known of the connected winter sports resorts are Verbier, La Tzoumaz, Bruson, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, and Thyon. A large part of the slopes for skiing and snowboarding lies above the tree line. The 4 Vallées ski area is especially popular with experts and freeriders, as there are countless steep powder slopes. In Verbier, even the professionals of the Freeride World Tour regularly stop by. There are also easy slopes for children and beginners, especially near the valley. The resorts in the winter sports area offer much more than just skiing, with a wide range of activities from snowshoe hikes and toboggan runs to dog sledding excursions.
