1/11 Hohstocklift
The 1,518 m long ski lift runs from 2,654 m (Hohbiel) up to just below the sheer cliff face of the Hohstock summit at 3,118 m. The facility, which began operation in 1982, was designed to open up two new high-alpine terrain areas for ski tourism.
The glaciated southern slope of the Sparrhorn forms one ski area. The Unterbäch side, accessible via a 150 m long tunnel, has offered an attractive alternative for advanced skiers since the passage opened in 1984.
The terrain above Hohbiel consists entirely of scree and therefore requires a lot of snow to be groomed. To allow the lift to open earlier in the winter, a section of the drag lift track is covered in spring. With snow farming, it can be ensured that the track can be prepared again the following year.
