The ski resort is situated slightly above Banff on the east side of Mt. Norquay (2,455 metres). It is one of the oldest ski resorts in Canada and opened in 1926. It is one of the oldest ski resorts in Canada and opened in 1926. The slopes for skiing and snowboarding are linked by lifts approximately up to the treeline. Beginners can practise in the lower area while experts have a blast on the steep runs and mogul slopes in the upper area. Mt. Norquay is also famous as a training area for Olympic and World Cup athletes. Other activities are also available in the winter sports resort such as snowshoe hiking and snow-tubing.
