The large Monte Rosa ski area stretches from Alagna in the Piedmont region, across the Salati Pass and the Punta Indren (3260 m), all the way into the Val di Gressoney with the villages of Stafal and Gressoney-La Trinité. The Val d‘Ayas, including the villages of Frachey and Champoluc, is also connected to the ski area via the Colle Bettaforca. The region is famous for its excellent freeride possibilities and heli-ski offering.
