Test result4 out of 5 stars

Evaluated by Skiresort.info, the world's largest test portal for ski resorts.
The evaluation is done as follows

Environmental friendliness of the ski resort Zugspitze

There are no snow cannons on the Zugspitze. The resort opens only if there is sufficient snow cover. The ski resort operator is implementing numerous energy-saving measures and installing photovoltaic systems.

Charging points for electric vehicles are available in some car parks. As the cog railway to the Zugspitze starts at the main train station in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, train travel is an environmentally friendly option. Combined tickets are also available. The cog railway even recovers energy on the journey down to the valley.
