The high valley of Wildschoenau offers a total of 70km of runs, however not all ski resorts are directly connected to each other. The main ski area is Schatzberg in Auffach, and then Markbachjoch and Lanerkoepfl in Niederau. Oberau and Roggenboden also offer additional beginner lifts.

Wildschoenau offers slopes of all levels of difficulty. Schatzberg offers mainly wide, easy slopes and Niederau on Markbachjoch and Lanerkoepfl offer steeper slopes. The runs in Oberau and Roggenboden are easy and well-suited for beginners.

The slope preparation is excellent.
The slopes are groomed daily from 16:00 until midnight
Tip: By new snow, an optimal slope prepartion is not always possible, even with a large effort. In addition, the new snow can not combine with the snow lying underneath and moguls are created quickly. For safety reasons, usually no slope preparation is possible during operating times.

The resort makes gentle tourism a priority. The reforestation areas are marked and slopes are closed when there is not enough snow.

The atmosphere is rather cozy in the restaurants and bars on the mountain and in the valley. There are many umbrella bars and other locations. In Auffach, there is the Grutt'n Stadl and in Niederau there are some umbrella bars. During the main season and on weekends, après ski can last a bit longer.

There are hotels, holiday apartments and private bed and breakfast accommodations in Niederau, Oberau and Auffach. In Auffach, you can stay directly in the Schatzberg ski resort at the Schatzbergalm or at Koglmoos. In Niederau, there are also 100 beds available in the Ruebezahl Huette and in the Alpengasthof Panorama at the Markbachjoch mountain station.

Toboggan run
The beginning of the toboggan run is at the middle station of the Schatzberg gondola lift at 1,300m. The length is 4,000m long and there is an easy and a difficult route. The finish is at 875m in Auffach. It is possible to rent sleds. Access to the start of the run is with the gondola lift.
There are 5 ski schools in Wildschoenau, many practice lifts in the individual villages and a snow-reliable practice area at the Schatzberg middle station. The beginner areas in Niederau and Oberau have 100% snow-making capabilities.
