It`s about one hour by car from Santiago to Farellones, on the last miles it`s a mountain road with 40 turns. You have to keep to the right in Farellones to get to Valle Nevado (another 15 minutes by car). You can ski directly from the parking lots or the hotels to the quad El Mirador, which takes you to the Cima Mirador, 3300 meters above sea level. From its top station you can ski down intermediate and wide runs to the new built detachable quad (The first one in Chile!) Andes Express. From here you can get to almoust any place of the ski resort and some expert runs are just underneath the lift.
Some intermediate ones lead you to the base station of the Andes Express. If you makes a turn right on half way down of this slope, you can get to the ski resort El Coloradoand its t-bar Cone Este (Attention: You need an extra ticket!). If you would like to ski La Parva, You have take the ski runs Camino Alto or the t-bar Valle del Inca, but there is also an extra ticket necessary. But from the top station of this lift you can ski down to the valley in La Parva. You remain in Valle Nevado if you take the t-bar Tres Puntas afterwards, which lifts you to the highest point of the resort in 3670 meters. From here you can choose to ski an easy, an intermediate or the or the expert run Shake to the t-bar Las Ballicas which takes you back nearly to the top station of the Andes Express. The intermediate run leads you to the lowest point of the ski resort, the base station of the triple chair El Prado at 2860m. Here you also arrive when you come from El
Colorado. If you like to return to the Hotels, it´s best to take the double chair El Vaiven or the t-bar Escondia, starting next to the quad El Mirador. For beginners, there is a small lift close by the hotels and two rope tows beside the double chair El Vaiven as well as a wonderful halfpipe for snowboarders. In Valle Nevado you find the most modern lifts of the three ski resorts around Santiago and countless possibilities to ski beyond the normal ski runs...
