Snow sculpture contest “OLYMPIC-ICE-GAMES 2014”
Sochi in Russia - and Klausberg in Aurina valley: these are the venues for the Winter Olympics 2014. No kidding! On Klausberg, the action-packed winter sports arena with the highest cable car and the sunniest slopes in South Tyrol, from January 12th to 17th 2014 will take place the “5th International Snow Sculpture Festival in Aurina valley”, themed “Winter Olympics”. The competitors wear boots and gloves. Instead of skis and sleds they have picks, shovels and ladders. And lots of ice.
At 2510 metres, in the breath-taking scenery of the Zillertal Alps, 10 works of art made of ice are formed from three metre high snow cubes.
