The slope preparation is excellent.
Tip: By new snow, an optimal slope prepartion is not always possible, even with a large effort. In addition, the new snow can not combine with the snow lying underneath and moguls are created quickly. For safety reasons, usually no slope preparation is possible during operating times.

Detailed description of the ski resort
From Northstar Village you can take the six person gondola Big Springs Express up to the Lodge at Big Springs. Here is the starting point from three more high speed quads. The high speed quad Vista Express takes you on the left side up to very nice runs through the forest. The high speed quad Arrow Express followed from the Cumstock Express runs up to the highest point - Mt. Pluto, 2624m. Here is also the top station from the high speed quad Backside Express. From the top you can choose between different runs down to the Lodge at Big Springs. The slope East Ridge is very recommendable because you have a very nice view to the blue Lake Tahoe. The new six person chair Pioneer Express takes you from the Lodge at Big Spings to the high speed quad Lookout Mountain. At this lift you have many steep runs through the forest. A halfpipe for snowboarders is located in the lower part of the Arrow Express and the Bear Paw double chair is especially for beginners. All the slopes at Northstar are located within the trees. The valley run to Northstar village is very flat and easy. At Northstar Village you can go in the Alpine Bar or other restaurants for dinner or just for fun.
