You must travel many kilometres over country roads in order to reach Neuastenberg and the speed limit is usually 70 km/h. If you happen to have one of the many lumber trucks in front of you, it takes even longer. When coming from the Ruhr area, it's best to exit the A46 already in Meschede and travel via Remblinghausen, Boedefeld, Siedlinghausen and Altastenberg. This avoids the frequent traffic jams in Bestwig and before Winterberg.
