About 20 miles from Bend is the ski resort Mt. Bachelor and closer you get the snow gets more and more. You can park at the Sunrise Lodge or you can drive to the West Village Lodge (6300 ft.) and park there. Here you find everything from ticket booth, guest services to a big sport shop and rental shop. At the lodge starts the high speed quad Pine Marten Express direction Mt. Bachelor. From the top station you can ski or ride via the easy run Summit Crossover to the high speed quad Summit Express and down to the Sunrise Lodge. From the Sunride Lodge the high speed quad Sunrise Express takes you up to the Summit Express. The triple chair Carrousel open up an easy beginner slope at the Sunrise Lodge and the triple chair Rainbow Chair take the skiers and riders up direction Mt. Bachelor. Here are the runs mostly easy. If you take the Summit Express up to Mt. Bachelor with its height of 9065 ft. you can ski or ride in every part of the resort. Some intermediate to advanced runs lead back to the valley and you can go into The Cirque Bowl but this is only for experts. Via the West Ridge you can reach the Northwest Territory where the high speed quads Outback Express and Northwest Express open up a lot of nice tree runs and free skiing terrain. The base station of the Northwest Express is the lowest point in the ski resort - 5700 ft. You can reach the Northwest Territory from the top station of the Pine Marten Express, too. The runs are intermediate to advanced and you have a lot of possibilities to find your way back to the base stations. The hole mountain is open for skiing and riding and at the base of the mountain a flat way leads the athlets back to the lifts. You can ski here more days without driving a run twice!
At the West Village Lodge is also a shorter high speed quad, called Sunshine Accelerator which takes you to the Sunshine Terrain Park and easy beginner slopes. The Skyliner Express, a high speed quad open up the runs between the Sunrise Lodge and the the West Village Lodge . The runs in the upper part of the mountain are on wide slopes, the runs in the lower part and in the Northwest Territory are between the trees. For a break or lunch are some restaurants and a nice bar at the West Village Lodge, but you can go to the Sunrise Lodge or to the Pine Marten Lodge on the mountain, too. The ski resort Mt. Bachelor offers runs for everybody - beginner and extreme skier or rider find everything the want to find for a perfect day. Owing to the lot of snow you will find always enough powder runs in the resort.
