The slope preparation is satisfactory.
Tip: By new snow, an optimal slope prepartion is not always possible, even with a large effort. In addition, the new snow can not combine with the snow lying underneath and moguls are created quickly. For safety reasons, usually no slope preparation is possible during operating times.

Detailed description of the ski resort
From Courtenay you drive nearly half an hour up to the base station of the ski area Mt. Washington. Beginners have their slopes close to the Alpine Lodge and the parking lots. At the t-bar Discovery Platter and at the handle tow they can practice skiing and riding on easy slopes. The double chair Green Double and the high speed six chair The Hawk open mostly very easy runs. With the high speed quad Eagle Express you can float up to the highest point (1588m) in the ski resort. The triple chair Whiskey Jack leads almost parallel to the Eagle Express, ends however already underneath the summit. From the summit you can ski the heavy runs Powder Face, Weat Basin and Eagle Glades, or take intermediate runs, past to the Whiskey Jack triple chair, down to the valley. In no case you should miss the wonderful panorama from the summit, because you have a wonderful view over the snow-covered mountain, the green valley up to the blue ocean. Via the Linton's Loop run you can reach the Sunshine Quad, at which you find wonderful, broad firebreak runs from moderately severe to heavy. From the the top station of the lift you can wag also again back to the Alpine Lodge. The slopes at the Mt. Washingten ski area leads to the largest section through firebreaks, only at the highest point of Mt. Washington you find hardly some trees. The ski resort is suitable outstanding for families because the area is visible and the accommodations are near the slopes and you do not need your car during your stay. On weekends it can become quite full in the area, since that it is the only correct ski resort on Vancouver Island...
