East Tyrol's only Women's World Cup race takes place on the Hochstein, the home mountain of Lienz. The World Cup entourage makes their station in Lienz every two years. The world's elite skiers ski down the Schlossberg to the spectacular finish line in the middle of the city. This ambiance is unique and is what makes Lienz a very special World Cup location. Many international training teams regularly set up camp in Lienz to professionally prepare for their competitions.
