The Kleine Scheidegg/Männlichen ski resort is the largest in the Bernese Oberland and in the Jungfrau region. While skiing, you can enjoy the spectacular panorama of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau (UNESCO World Heritage Site). From Grindelwald, a cog railway leads up to the Kleine Scheidegg and a gondola read more lift leads up to the Männlichen.
The car-free mountain village of Wengen is a popular ski destination with many accommodation possibilities. Wengen is accessible from Lauterbrunnen via cog railway. From Wengen, you then take a cable car up to the Männlichen or the cog railway to the Kleine Scheidegg. The winter sports region offers optimally groomed slopes, a sophisticated artificial snow-making system and modern chairlifts.
The Jungfrau lift leads from the Kleine Scheidegg through the Eiger and Mönch up to the Jungfraujoch with the highest train station in Europe at 3454 m (Top of Europe). The Sphinx Observatory is found here at 3571 m and is the highest and most distinctive building on the Jungfraujoch. From up here, you can enjoy a gorgeous view of the Aletsch Glacier and the Bernese Oberland. When the weather is clear, you can even see all the way to the Vosges and the Black Forest. There are no slopes leading down from the Jungfraujoch, so you must take the cog railway back down to the valley.
