The opening of the 3K K-onnection tri-cable link (Maiskogel-Langwied) created a continuous cable car connection from Kaprun to the Kitzsteinhorn. As Austria's first glacier ski resort, the Kitzsteinhorn is legendary. The only glacier lifts in the Province of Salzburg make it possible to ski from October through to July. As well as easy practice slopes and sporty carving slopes, there are also some real challenges here, including the extremely steep “Black Mamba”. The Kitzsteinhorn is also a renowned hotspot for freeriders and freestylers. The Maiskogel completes the winter sports resort with an ideal selection for families and pleasure seekers. This area of the ski resort, situated directly on the outskirts of Kaprun, offers gentle terrain below the treeline and in close proximity to the town, as well as traditional cosy mountain huts. The linking of the resorts of Kitzsteinhorn/Maiskogel in Kaprun has opened up a very diverse selection of slopes to suit every winter sports enthusiast.
Note: The openening times are provided by the ski resort Kitzsteinhorn/Maiskogel – Kaprun and can vary based on external conditions, day of the week, school holidays and public holidays.
