They do not make snow artificially in Kaltenbronn. They are therefore fully dependent upon nature, but it usually does its job pretty well in the high altitudes of the Black Forest.

- The valley run is always open when ski resort is open; without the valley run, ski operation is not possible.
The slope preparation is very good.
It is understood in Kaltenbronn, that you can make a super surface for skiing even with a little bit of snow.
Tip: By new snow, an optimal slope prepartion is not always possible, even with a large effort. In addition, the new snow can not combine with the snow lying underneath and moguls are created quickly. For safety reasons, usually no slope preparation is possible during operating times.
Kaltenbronn is reached within a short time from Rastatt over Gaggenau and Gengenbach. The roads are well-built. There is sufficient parking to be found on the country road. It only gets crowded when the weather is nice during the weekend.

There is only one run in Kaltenbronn, so you'd really have to try hard to get lost. The infrastructure, such as toilets and other important information, are also easy to locate.
The ski resort itself, the rest areas, restaurants and the sanitary facilities are all very well-maintained and orderly.
Environmentally friendly ski operation
There is no snow-making facility in Kaltenbronn. In addition, the village operates an information centre with an exhibit about the Nature Park Schwarzwald Nord (Black Forest North). They practice soft tourism.

- Scheduled buses run from Gernsbach in the Murg Valley and from Bad Wildbad in the Enz Valley to Kaltenbronn. Extra buses are operating during the weekends and nice weather. The buses stop at the ski lifts as well as at the entry point to the cross-country trail.
The staff is generally friendly and courteous. The people from the Black Forest can sometimes be a bit moody, but they are nevertheless helpful.

A snack bar at the foot of the lift offers drinks and snacks to satisfy small cravings in between. A few metres further, the Hotel Sarbacher welcomes guests for larger meals.

Kaltenbronn is a very small, family-oriented village. Those who desire can visit the Hotel Sarbacher after skiing or drive to one of the surrounding villages for dinner.

It is easy to keep an overview of the Kaltenbronn ski resort. The children can also ski on their own here. The staff assists at the lifts and no one can get lost. The ski clubs from the surrounding communities also offer ski courses upon request.
There is a particularly nice toboggan slope on the opposite slope that is also secured from the road by a safety fence in case any tobogganers get going too fast.
For those who don't want to do any sports, but would rather do something for their education, they can visit the Infozentrum Kaltenbronn and learn something about the Naturpark Nordschwarzwald (Nature Park Northern Black Forest) and its animal and plant world.

The Kaltenbronn slope is an ideal practice area for beginners. There are inexpensive day tickets, morning tickets and even point tickets. Everyone can decide how much skiing they want to do. Staff is always present at one of the two lifts and they help with boarding. Ski courses are given upon request by the ski clubs in the area.

Multiple circuit trails of up to 21.5 km in length begin directly in Kaltenbronn. Most are prepared for classical cross-country style. The Kaltenbronn trail network is also connected to many trails from the surrounding villages. There is a charge for the use of the trails. Day tickets can be purchased at the entrance to the village.
