The slope preparation is excellent.
When new snow falls, the slopes are groomed throughout the night. Slopes are even prepared during the day when required.
Tip: By new snow, an optimal slope prepartion is not always possible, even with a large effort. In addition, the new snow can not combine with the snow lying underneath and moguls are created quickly. For safety reasons, usually no slope preparation is possible during operating times.
The Hochkoenig ski resort is between 15 to 40 km away from the Tauern expressway. There are usually enough free parking spaces at the valley stations. It is possible to get there without paying tolls by driving from the A8 Traunstein/Siegsdorf exit via Lofer.

Trail map and overview maps:
The trail map depicts the ski resort from Muehlbach, to Dienten and to Maria Alm very well. The lifts at Hochkeil and Hinterreit are also indicated. The lifts, ski pass prices and other information are included. It would be helpful if more altitude indications were included as well as more information about the individual slopes.
Information boards and sign-postings on the slopes:
The sign-posting on the slopes is good. It is easy to find your way in the ski resort.
The ski resort is very well-maintained. The sanitary facilities are of the latest standard and are very clean.
Environmentally friendly ski operation
The Hochkoenig ski resort has a very good ski bus system. You will not need your car at all for the entire holiday. They use mainly regional products in the mountain restaurants.

The personnel at some of the lifts is very friendly and helpful. Sometimes the skis are lifted out of the gondola for you and the children are helped to board the lift. At some of the t-bar lifts, however, you are left to fend for yourself.
Mountain restaurants, ski huts, gastronomy
The gastronomy couldn't be better. There are rustic and cozy huts and sun terraces waiting for guests throughout the entire ski resort. There is a good balance between self-service and service restaurants. Mass-production restaurants are not to be found here.
