In addition to very varied and beautifully groomed ski slopes catering to all abilities, the winter sports resort around Sexten offers very attractive facilities for families. Children can have fun on a kids’ ski-cross course, a snow-tubing run and two toboggan runs. They can practice ski techniques on the Rudi-Rentierweg (Rudolf the reindeer's trail) and at the small sunny Dorflilifts. The family of giant snowmen is an impressive sight for children and they will also enjoy visiting the only and smallest reindeer herd in the Alps. Passionate skiers can set out on the “Grande Giro delle Cime” ski adventure, taking in five mountains in the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site, three valleys and crossing the border between the provinces of South Tyrol and Belluno. There are highlights for non-skiers too: tobogganing or snowshoe hikes against the impressive backdrop of the Dolomite peaks. Ski train and ski bus services provide easy access to the ski resort without having to use a car. The Ski Pustertal Express provides a direct train connection to nearby Kronplatz and 200 kilometres of slopes in a single day!
