They are dependent on natural snow. Due to the altitude, it is usually open for skiing from December to March.
Worth knowing
- No artificial snow-making
- The valley run is always open when ski resort is open; without the valley run, ski operation is not possible.
The slope preparation leaves something to be desired.
Tip: By new snow, an optimal slope prepartion is not always possible, even with a large effort. In addition, the new snow can not combine with the snow lying underneath and moguls are created quickly. For safety reasons, usually no slope preparation is possible during operating times.
The ski area is about 20 minutes from the Brenner expressway. There is free parking at the valley station. Unfortunately, you have to pay a toll on the Brenner until the Steinach exit.

There is a sophisticated, free ski bus system with its own pocket-sized schedule. You can explore the Wipptal and the side valleys with the ski buses. They practice soft tourism in Gschnitz.

There is no stress or rushing at the Alfaier lift. The kids can let off steam on the two runs and the tow rope. The parents have a good overview of the whole area.
