The village of Wengen is car-free and can be accessed only using the cog railway from Lauterbrunnen. Ski buses and trains operate in the valley. The cog railway plays an important role and provides connections between Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen to the ski resort.

From Lauterbrunnen train station, the cog railway runs up to the Kleine Scheidegg via Wengen. Access to Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen is via the Interlaken Ost train station.
