Total result: 3.3 out of 5 stars

Situated in the vicinity of San Martin de los Andes, Chapelco is one of the "Big Three" ski resorts. In San Martin, that might remind you of a Tirolian village, located at Lago Lácar, you have a wonderful view at the amazing landscape.
It's only a few miles on the road to the ski resort but the last part of the road is unpaved, like many roads in Argentina. At the base station of the resort you can choose to take either the six person gondola or the triple chair and high speed quad Rancho Grande to get to the top. Perfect ski runs for beginners are located at the double chair and the quad near the gondola´s top station . From the top stations of these lifts you are able to reach the quad Refugio Graeff which takes you to the Cerro Teta. From here you can ski down some expert runs to the base station of the lift or to the t-bar Slalom which also serves expert runs. Easier and wider runs are located at the Cerro Mocho and a t-bar takes you back to the top. From this point, the top station of the gondola can be reached with the t-bar at the Cerro Mocho and by skiing down an easy run. The intermediate runs to the valley are wide and easy to ski and lead through the forest. In case of too little snow you can reach the valley with the triple chair. For lunch we recommend the restaurant Antulaufquen situated at the base station of the gondola. After skiing you can go to the bar and restaurant La Base for some Après-Ski.
