The ski area stretches from the village of Bayrischzell up to the namesake Sudelfeld and on to Voglsang at 1,563 meters. In the winter of 2014/15, an investment initiative began at Sudelfeld. The main focus was initially the construction of the Waldkopf 6-seater chairlift with rental station and heated ski depot at Unteres Sudelfeld. This was accompanied by an expansion of artificial snowmaking in the ski area, including a new storage pond, a new Freeridecross, and a snow park. The next major development followed in the 2017/18 winter season at Mittleres Sudelfeld: the new Sudelfeldkopf 8-seater chairlift, one of the fastest chairlifts in Germany, now connects the Grafenherberg area directly with Sudelfeldkopf at 1,436 meters.

The Sudelfeld ski area is suitable for beginners as well as ambitious skiers. Families in particular appreciate the winter sports area near Bayrischzell with its child-friendly beginner slopes and children's areas. Cozy huts and mountain inns complete the offering.
