Gastronomy/Eating at the ski resort Åre

Throughout the entire ski resort of Åre, you can find exclusive restaurants, rustic huts and cosy lounges. Restaurants are distributed strategically all over the ski resort. From the higher mountain huts, you can enjoy a fantastic view over the Scandinavian mountains and the lake. The restaurants serve mainly Swedish specialities. Public barbecue areas/fire pits and heated cabins can be found throughout the ski resort.

Restaurant Hummelstugan

At the Hummelliften mountain station at 883 m

The Hummelstugan is situated in the middle of the ski resort of Åre and offers a breathtaking view of mountain landscapes and the lake. Excellent food and a wide selection of wines attract hungry visitors. A fireplace adds a cosy atmosphere.

At the Bräckeliften mountain station at 720 m

The “720” serves high-quality regional cuisine. New creations by the chef feature daily on the menu. A very good selection of champagnes and wines adds the finishing touch. The modern bar is also an inviting place to stop for a break. In fine weather, there is an attractive sun terrace with a view of Åresjön and Renfjället.

Timmerstugan

The exclusive Timmerstugan serves sophisticated dishes. A wide selection of drinks adds the finishing touch. You can also enjoy fondue here in the evening.

Mountain hut tip

Buustamons Fjällgård

At the Rödkulleliften at the treeline at 732 m

The Buustamons Fjällgård is probably the most rustic hut in the entire ski resort of Åre. Slightly set apart from the main areas, you can enjoy regional specialities here at an open fire in the cosy wooden dining room. It is home to the smallest legal distillery in Sweden, producing Buustamons brandy. There is also accommodation available here.

Lilla Tyrolen

At the Järvenliften in Åre Björnen at 620 m

The Lilla Tyrolen mountain hut has an attractive dining room with lots of wood decor and an open fireplace. It serves typical regional dishes. A good selection of wines adds the finishing touch.

Kastrullen

At the Sadelexpressen 6-person chairlift at 645 m

The rustic Kastrullen mountain hut offers very good skiers’ fare, a bar and a sun terrace. It is the perfect place to stop for lunch or a hot drink.

This rustic wooden hut with a cosy fireplace serves Swedish specialities. There is a fantastic view from the sun terrace. The Austrian Stieglbier is available on tap.
